Pre-E3 - Cyberpunk 2077

Hey folks,

Groovy here once again, and I'm bringing you some pre-E3 hype, but first, I'm going to start this off with an apology in regards to The Banner Saga. I've decided to shelve my idea for the "Deeper dive" series of writing until I feel I can deliver it in a medium that suits. In the case of The Banner Saga, I think a commentary over video would have been much more appropriate, so until I get the means to do that, I'll be leaving that one on the shelf. I'm still going to write a review for it, but the in-depth stuff will take a back seat unless you guys wanna read it. Let me know if you do.

ONWARDS TO E3!

The pre-E3 hype is all around us, with games being "leaked" (we're onto you), companies teasing new games on the run-up (Tetris with music? Nice try Sony) and a whole bunch of Nintendo teasers (Pokémon Let's Go, looking good!). I'll pick a few I'm excited about and give you some stuff to look at.

Cyberpunk 2077
One that may have fallen off a few peoples radars, but with news that they have just recently registered the domain for a Cyberpunk 2077 website, looks like the next game from CD Projekt Red, the guys who made The Witcher series, is good to go. Chances are we're going to see this show up at E3.

The game was originally teased all the way back in 2013 with this gem of a trailer:

Don't know what you guys think, but I've not kept up with The Witcher franchise, but this game sounds (and from the teaser) looks amazing. All we know about the game this far is that it is set in a dark future in the year 2077 where there's a bit of a crisis between humanity and technology.

One thing that we do know about Cyberpunk 2077 is that the guys at CD Projekt Red have said that the game will be a huge and immersive 'true' RPG, so more of The Witcher, but in the future i guess. I mean, why fix what isn't broken? If anything, CDPR have made some amazing games, and tend to stay away from the shadier side of the industry when it comes to DLC/Lootboxes/Mircrotransactions, they seem to always get that bit right, so I'm excited about it.

Will it show at E3? Highly likely, there's rumours CDPR are going to be holding an hour long presser regarding the game, but I think we'll see it showcased at E3 regardless. Cyberpunk 2077 is rumoured to be releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
