E3 Conference Roundup - Devolver Digital
So honestly, this was going to be the Microsoft press conference, but that bad boy had a total of 50 games in it, and that's going to be quite a lengthy one, so I figured I'd save that one for when I have a bit more time.
I've already written the round up of the EA conference, and you can find that here if you missed it. It was a pretty good conference so go enjoy it.
We're here to talk about Devolver Digital. It was about 20 minutes, so not a whole lot, but you really would be depriving yourself of one of the best press events if you don't watch the whole thing. My favourite thing about Devolver Digital is that they are very tongue-in-cheek about current goings on in the video game industry with jokes aplenty about loot boxes and shady business practices.
If you want to watch the conference, you can find it here:
It's a bloody great laugh (literally) trust me.
If you just want the games, read on. Let's goooooooo.
SCUM
SCUM is the first game shown at the presser and it's billed as "Supermax Open world Survival". Long and short of it is you play as a customisable inmate that has to survive an open world prison. Now it's worth mentioning this game has been in early access for quite a while now, and you can find plenty of videos of the game on Youtube.
The game looks bloody, it sounds interesting, and after doing a bit of digging it looks like it could be one of those crazy wacky games that Devolver Digital are pretty well known for publishing.
E3 trailer below:

You can check out SCUM on early access here, though it looks like you can't buy it just yet.
My Friend Pedro
This slo-mo action game from Devolver Digital looks insane. A trailer set to some more classic sounding music, featuring a talking banana, lots of blood, guns, a skateboard and some pretty nifty trick shots.
My Friend Pedro seems to invoke feelings of gun play that you may see in John Wick, or maybe from your favourite superhero Deadpool. Either way the game looks pretty creative and a lot of fun. Trailer below:
My Friend Pedro is coming to both Nintendo Switch and PC early in 2019.
Metal Wolf Chaos XD
Now not many people may have heard of Metal Wolf Chaos, a game originally released on the Xbox by From Software, more commonly known as the guys behind Dark Souls, however, if you're after a bit of crazy mech-play and an insane plot involving the president of the USA, then you're going to find it in Metal Wolf Chaos.
This is a remake of the game being headed up by both Devolver Digital and General Arcade. If you want to know more about the game, you can check out tons of game play on YouTube from the original Xbox, if you would rather wait and leave the surprise (trust me, you will. It's a treat) then you can fill your boots with the trailer below:
That's all from Devolver Digital. Again, it's well worth the watch and is very on the nose with some controversial issues that have come about in the past year or so from the video game industry.
My personal takeaway from the Devolver Digital conference is My Friend Pedro, looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait to have a go.
Until next time.
